\u201cSo Jesus said to them, \u2018Because of your unbelief, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, \u201cMove from here to there,\u201d and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.\u2019\u201d Matthew 17:20 <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Faith like Elijah<\/strong>
\n<\/span> Part 2 <\/span><\/h2>\n

Do my words support my belief system? If I only had faith as a grain of mustard seed, nothing would be impossible for me! Do my actions support the faith I communicate? If I truly believed that Scripture, what could keep me from having faith like Elijah? <\/span><\/p>\n

The face looking back at me from my bathroom mirror (who is a much older woman than myself) asked me, \u201cWho do you think you are kidding? You say that you believe, and even trust God, but are you willing to put it to the test? Get in the wheelbarrow.\u201d The old woman in the mirror reminded me of a story about a tightrope walker who asked the crowd below if they believed he could push a wheelbarrow across the rope. The crowd cheered him on with, \u201cYes, we believe you can do it. We have faith in you!!\u201d After accomplishing this feat, he joined the crowd below as they applauded his success. His next question was, \u201cDo you believe that I could push an adult riding in the wheelbarrow across the rope?\u201d A unanimous crowd cheered \u201cyes\u201d in unison. \u201cAll right then,\u201d he continued, \u201cwho wants to be first to get into the wheelbarrow?\u201d The crowd dispersed quickly. There seems to be more to \u201cbelieving\u201d to get into the wheelbarrow. Perhaps putting feet to your faith, you would TRUST HIM enough to put action to your faith. Elijah really stuck his neck out. He got into the wheelbarrow. <\/span><\/p>\n

After Elijah asked God to send fire from heaven to consume the offering, and prophets of Baal were killed, Elijah bowed down to pray on Mt. Carmel. He sent his servant to go watch and come back and tell him when rain was coming. Six times his servant reported no rain. The seventh time, he reported a tiny cloud rising out of the sea the size of a man’s fist. Elijah tells his servant to run tell King Ahab to hurry back or the storm will stop him! <\/span><\/p>\n

Now I love this part: Elijah outran the King\u2019s Chariot! He never stopped to glance at the tiny cloud; he believed (put feet to his faith), and ran like the wind! Oh, for that kind of faith. We still hear His voice today. He still speaks. His commands are clear in His Word. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLord, I always know<\/strong> that YOU are at work in my life, but I am \u00a0not always aware<\/strong> of how and what You are doing. Since I don\u2019t always see<\/strong> what You are doing, please Lord, help my unbelief and stir up the faith You have placed in me. Have Your will Lord, Thy will, be done.\u201d<\/span> <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
