kidZone Guidance

Face Coverings:
During the entirety of the kidZone service, leaders will wear face coverings, with the exception of when we are outdoors and social distancing can be maintained.

Kids 3rd grade & older will also be required to wear a face covering for the entirety of the service, with the exception of when we are outdoors and social distancing can be maintained. Children who bring a doctors note exempting them from wearing a face covering will not be required to do so.

Hand Sanitizer and disposable masks will be readily available throughout the service.

Gloves:
Leaders will wear gloves when distributing items such as crafts & snacks.

Rooms used:
Rooms B6/B7 with the wall broken down making one big room. We can have up to 36 people in B6/B7 as one room (that is when the standard is a 50% capacity requirement – if that percentage is adjusted, we would open more rooms to accommodate the kids coming). We anticipate no more than 20 children & about 5 leaders present on a Wednesday night, giving us room to grow if needed. The room will be set up to maintain social distancing with spread out tables & chairs for children to sit at (the same set up as school).

KidZone kids will use the “C” Building bathrooms (so as not to disturb the adult service in the courtyard). Restroom use will be limited to 2 kids in the restroom at a time. Hand washing is required (as always) after bathroom use.

Schedule:
6:15-6:45pm Arrival (outside):

Kids will check in near the door to B6 before service starts. Parents will be asked not to enter B6/B7 and a leader will hand the check-in tags to the kid(s) & parent(s). Social distancing between families checking in will be encouraged.

6:15-7pm Play (outside):

After children check in, they will be immediately sent down the east side of the parking lot (nearest B8) to play on the playground.

The Playground/Field guidelines (monitored by leaders) are:

• Playground equipment
• Big Dome – 3 students
• Little Dome – 2 students
• Monkey bars – 1 student
• Glider – 1 student on glider, 1 on platform, physically distanced line
• Swings – regular use
• Large play structure – use wisdom – physical distancing in mind
• Field Use
• Games on the field like “Red Light, Green Light”, races, etc., where social distancing can be maintained, are allowed.
• Games such as “Tag” & “Sharks & Minnows”, where there is excessive physical contact, will not be allowed.
• Soccer is allowed. All balls must be sanitized after use.

7pm-7:30pm Worship (outside):

Kids will proceed up the east side of the parking lot (so as not to disturb the adult service in the courtyard) and to the north parking lot where everyone will stand socially distanced in a circle & we will worship.

7:30-8pm Teaching/Crafts/Snack (inside):

Kids will be led into B6/B7 where they will sit in pre-arranged chairs at tables, socially distanced from other children. They will remain in their chairs for the last 30 minutes of the service (this is when we will do teaching, craft & snack).

Snacks:
Snacks distributed will be pre-packaged.

Craft Materials:
Kids will not share craft materials (crayons, scissors, etc.)

8pm Dismissal (inside):
Parents picking up their kids will be asked to wait at the door while a leader directs the child outside to their parents.

HighSight Guidance

Students will arrive at LCC and proceed to the courtyard where the outdoor service is being held. They will find a seat in the courtyard with their parents/guardians or in an area of chairs arranged near the B/C building breezeway, where the HighSight Staff will be located. Social Distancing is encouraged during the time of worship through song. However, masks are not required while singing or participating in other outdoor activities while social distancing can be reasonably maintained.

After worship, students will be released to make their way toward Room C6 “HighSight”. Students and staff will all be asked to wear face coverings before entering/exiting the room and at all times while inside the room. Students who have a signed release from a doctor will be exempted from this requirement.

Chairs will be set up in the room, spaced out to help students maintain social distancing while in the service. We are planning on approximately 35-40 people in the room, students and leaders, but we can accommodate up to 50 if we need to. We will have a short teaching time and then break up into small groups.

Small groups will consist of 4-8 students with one adult leader. While the weather is nice, groups will be encouraged to find a place outside to meet. While outside and social distancing is possible, mask use will not be required. Where outside meeting is not practical or desirable, each female small group will meet in a separate classroom on campus, while the male groups will be spread out in C6. Masks and social distancing will be encouraged and maintained during inside small groups.

We may also provide an activity or game during our service. If we have an activity outside, masks will not be required, but we will choose activities that limit excessive physIcal contact. If we have an activity inside, masks will be required, and we will choose activities that limit excessive physical contact and keep students in groups of the same students for the duration of the activity.

At the conclusion of our service, students will be released to the courtyard and encouraged to maintain reasonable social distancing while they wait for their parent/guardian to pick them up.

Typical Schedule:
– 6:30-7:00 Worship
– 7:00-7:10 Game/Activity
– 7:10-7:30 Teaching
– 7:30-8:00 Small Groups
