kidZone Guidance

Face Coverings:
During the entirety of the kidZone service, leaders will wear face coverings, with the exception of when we are outdoors and social distancing can be maintained.

Kids 3rd grade & older will also be required to wear a face covering for the entirety of the service, with the exception of when we are outdoors and social distancing can be maintained. Children who bring a doctors note exempting them from wearing a face covering will not be required to do so.

Hand Sanitizer and disposable masks will be readily available throughout the service.

Gloves:
Leaders will wear gloves when distributing items such as crafts & snacks.

Rooms used:
Rooms B6/B7 with the wall broken down making one big room. We can have up to 36 people in B6/B7 as one room (that is when the standard is a 50% capacity requirement – if that percentage is adjusted, we would open more rooms to accommodate the kids coming). We anticipate no more than 20 children & about 5 leaders present on a Wednesday night, giving us room to grow if needed. The room will be set up to maintain social distancing with spread out tables & chairs for children to sit at (the same set up as school).

KidZone kids will use the “C” Building bathrooms (so as not to disturb the adult service in the courtyard). Restroom use will be limited to 2 kids in the restroom at a time. Hand washing is required (as always) after bathroom use.

Schedule:
6:15-6:45pm Arrival (outside):

Kids will check in near the door to B6 before service starts. Parents will be asked not to enter B6/B7 and a leader will hand the check-in tags to the kid(s) & parent(s). Social distancing between families checking in will be encouraged.

6:15-7pm Play (outside):

After children check in, they will be immediately sent down the east side of the parking lot (nearest B8) to play on the playground.

The Playground/Field guidelines (monitored by leaders) are:

• Playground equipment
• Big Dome – 3 students
• Little Dome – 2 students
• Monkey bars – 1 student
• Glider – 1 student on glider, 1 on platform, physically distanced line
• Swings – regular use
• Large play structure – use wisdom – physical distancing in mind
• Field Use
• Games on the field like “Red Light, Green Light”, races, etc., where social distancing can be maintained, are allowed.
• Games such as “Tag” & “Sharks & Minnows”, where there is excessive physical contact, will not be allowed.
• Soccer is allowed. All balls must be sanitized after use.

7pm-7:30pm Worship (outside):

Kids will proceed up the east side of the parking lot (so as not to disturb the adult service in the courtyard) and to the north parking lot where everyone will stand socially distanced in a circle & we will worship.

7:30-8pm Teaching/Crafts/Snack (inside):

Kids will be led into B6/B7 where they will sit in pre-arranged chairs at tables, socially distanced from other children. They will remain in their chairs for the last 30 minutes of the service (this is when we will do teaching, craft & snack).

Snacks:
Snacks distributed will be pre-packaged.

Craft Materials:
Kids will not share craft materials (crayons, scissors, etc.)

8pm Dismissal (inside):
Parents picking up their kids will be asked to wait at the door while a leader directs the child outside to their parents.
