“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT

Cream of the Crop

“The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.” (Therese of Lisieux)

Just as God has designed each flower and each plant for us to enjoy in its uniqueness —our God has designed each one of us as unique. He thinks of us as His masterpiece, and He desires a relationship with us. Sometimes we need to be reminded that this is the way He views us.

If you have ever experienced some trauma in your life, such as I have, you may tend to struggle with your mind and thought process which may lead you to be harder on yourself than necessary, and your mind may drift toward a negative thought pattern of yourself; or you may rehearse the days’ activities in your mind over and over, and the more you rehearse, the worse the situation seems—at least in your mind.

We tend to look through the eyes of our past experience. It could have been a betrayal, a type of pain, a loss, abandonment, or rejection; however, we need to learn to direct our thought pattern to the truth of how God views us and not concern ourselves with any negative thoughts. Satan will use this to remind us of our past experiences and try to imbed them into our mind and thought process—but he will flee from us when we choose to trust in the truth of how God views us, feels about us, and loves us. Our worth comes from Jesus loving us and our part is to accept His love for us.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Romans 12:2 NLT).

You are the cream of the crop in God’s eyes and you can smile at your future because He has a specific plan in mind just for you on your journey in this life with Him.

Lord, we ask for Your help in renewing our mind daily. We give all our past unpleasant experiences to You and lay them at Your feet today. We love You because You first loved us, and we look forward to our future. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
