“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?” 1 John 3:17

Look At Me

Look into my eyes.

Does anyone see me?

You and I walked toward one another.

But you never looked up.

Did you feel me there?

Can you just look into my face?

Make me feel alive.

Make me feel that I belong in this world.

We all want to be seen.

Isolation is to be dead already.

If we are salt and light to a dying world, we need to remember that many are very lonely. They have no one reaching out to them. They are hurting. Will I simply give a free smile? Who is worthy of my smile? Shouldn’t I, who have the Spirit of the Living God, be able to burst through all worldly walls and give a smile?

Everyone I see was made in the image of God. God wants them all to come to a saving knowledge of Him. He wants to save them! And He draws us in with loving kindness. All of us. He is still drawing me in with His loving kindnesses.

Kindness. It is love. And God is love.

If I am loving, I am not sinning.

“Father, forgive us for walking past people as if they did not exist, as if they did not matter. Open our eyes, and help us be aware of those around us. Fill us with Your love for each other. Amen.”
