“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” Psalm 28:7

How is Your Praise?

Just whistle while you work (some humming) and la la la la. I didn’t really know the words so I looked them up and here they are:

Just whistle while you work

And cheerfully together we can tidy up the place

So hum a merry tune

It won’t take long when there’s a song to help you set the pace

And as you sweep the room

Imagine that the broom

Is someone that you love and soon you’ll find you’re dancing to the tune

When hearts are high the time will fly so whistle while you work*

Not very spiritual but maybe the words can be tweaked a little to fit the current situation we all find ourselves in today.

Just praise Him while you’re home

And cheerfully thank Him as we tidy up the place

So hum a merry tune

It won’t take long when there’s a song to help you set the pace

And as you sweep the room

Imagine that the broom

Is Someone that you love and soon you’ll find you’re dancing to the tune

When hearts are high the time will fly so praise Him while you work

Praising God is important. There are 164 verses in Psalms alone that mention praise. Praise gets our mind off of ourselves and on to the only One that can help us in our time of sorrow, desperation, anger, resentment, and lack.

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” Psalm 43:5

“And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.” Psalm 27:6

“O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise.” Psalm 51:15

Yes, Lord! Open our lips so we can show forth Your praise. We have much to be thankful for. During this different and difficult time, please speak to us and help us to obey what we hear You say. In Jesus’ name.
