“My grace is sufficient for you.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

He Sees Me

The President of South Africa announced last night that we will go on nationwide lockdown for 21 days. The number of Coronavirus cases has been climbing daily, so it seems timely to take this decisive step to try and “flatten the curve” of the pandemic escalating. This decision could well be our saving grace.

I was encouraged in my quiet time that God “sees me.” He sees what I’m walking through—what all of us are walking through—in this unprecedented time. Just as God saw Hagar in the wilderness, He sees us in whatever situation we’re in. “You are the God who sees me,” she said (Genesis 16:13). We are seen by Him! He is mindful of each of us as we lockdown or shelter in place. He sees us and is with us to help us.

Shortly after the lockdown was announced, a friend sent this. I found it helpful.

L. O. C. K. D. O. W. N. is a time to:

Listen to God’s voice and reflect.
Obey His Word and teachings.
Call on Jesus’ name and be calm.
Know what God’s purpose is in this.
Dwell in His presence. Don’t panic.
Offer a prayer for everyone’s safety.
Wait and be patient. This, too, shall pass.
Nurture our relationship with Him.

The world has changed drastically in recent weeks, but God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can trust Him to get us through this unbelievable time. Thank you for your prayers.

Father, we say that we trust You completely with our lives, and now we have a special opportunity to show that. May others who are watching us find us living in Your peace. Amen.
