“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:4-7

The Blue Bird

A blue bird perched my window by

it seemed to me to say-

“My God is watching over you

must you fret today?

His own dear life a ransom paid

that you be wholly free.

So cast your cares and spread the word

and sing in praise with me.”

My joyful heart sang out in song

as the cares just slipped away.

My thanks to you, my feathered friend,

God bless you this fine day.

I’ll sing and laugh and spread the word

of how you came my way.

Our God is on the throne right now.

Hosanna, come what may!

“Thank You, Father, for the little reminders of Your love that fly by us every day. May we cast our worries and cares on You, and trust You today. Amen.”
