“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth or any other creation or created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Super-Glued to Jesus

The indication of this scripture is that they will try to separate us but will not be able. My desire is to be super-glued to Jesus forever.

Have you ever used super glue, and your aim was not quite accurate, gluing the wrong piece to the wrong place? There is no way to separate those glued-together pieces. My dad was a super glue perfectionist. When he glued something, he was very meticulous about how and where the glue was to be placed. He then, with great patience to keep it from straying from its intended place, held it tightly with his fingers until it was sealed.

If we trust in Jesus and believe, we are sealed, kept in the tightly-gripped fingers of God. The good news is that we are super-glued to Jesus, because no one can break the seal of God. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us because we are sealed in Him by His Holy Spirit. His Word is His bond and He said He would never leave us or forsake us. He said through Christ we are more than conquerors.

What does being sealed and “super-glued” by God’s His Holy Spirit look like? We are hidden in Him, a part of Him. His seal is a mark of ownership, and it is “tamper-resistant” (Ephesians 1:13b). We are under His protection, preserved by Him and for Him. The Lord knows those who are His. The word “sealed” in Greek also means that things that are sealed are secure, concealed, and hidden. In Ephesians this word suggests a mark of ownership by God, sealed until the day of Redemption. You are sealed as the “property of God.”

I am not saying that our trials, stresses and battles are trivial. Sometimes they seem like there is no way to get through and want to give up. Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy. He is defeated. What I am saying is that we can overcome if we focus on Jesus Who can handle all of our trials, stresses and battles that we are willing to give over to Him. If we ask for His help, He has made us more than conquerors because he has overcome and conquered death in sin and given us the victory just because we are glued to Him. Yes, we are more than conquerors, because we are hidden while He does battle for us. Relax, dear ones, He has already won.

“Father, nothing can separate us from You. You have “super-glued” us together in Jesus by Your Holy Spirit. You hold us together, glued to You, Jesus, forever.”
